Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join our team at CMI Group Aerospace & Defense. As a CNC Lathe Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and running aerospace production parts, performing daily machine maintenance, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and run aerospace production parts on CNC lathes
  • Perform daily machine maintenance, including checking fluid levels and cleaning out chips
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Understand and use CNC controls, including G & M program codes
  • Manage tools, including entering offsets to compensate for tool wear and replacing worn and damaged tools
  • Read and understand blueprints, including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, and GD&T
  • Use inspection, measuring, and test equipment to verify machined dimensions of products
  • Perform in-process inspection of parts and record inspection data
  • Fulfill job-related tasks, including filling out MOT and job routers, and maintaining correct part counts
  • Communicate job-related issues and questions to lead personnel for resolution and clarification
  • Report machine collisions and malfunctions to lead personnel

Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience running CNC lathes
  • Understanding of G & M codes for Fanuc-based programming
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and industry standards of inspection
  • Ability to use computer software and company ERP system
  • Minimum High School Diploma or trade school
  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the US
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be able to stand majority of the shift
