Purpose

This role is essential for executing specialized tasks in the operation and upkeep of audio-visual and computer systems utilized for the internal examination, inventory, and assessment of the city's sanitary sewer systems and customer service lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees the setup, maintenance, and storage of sewer inspection equipment.
  • Manages the assembly and disassembly of sewer inspection apparatus, ensuring the correct connection of lateral cameras and launchers.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the service vehicle and ensures equipment is in optimal condition.
  • Conducts repairs on cameras and verifies the accurate calibration of the inspection camera's inclinometer.
  • Documents precise details regarding inspection and smoke testing results.
  • Positions the camera in manholes, adjusts its alignment within the pipeline, and enters manholes as necessary.
  • Acquires all relevant street and pipeline maps for daily assignments.
  • Operates machinery for cleaning and repairing pipelines.
  • Establishes all safety protocols, manages inventory loading and unloading, and restocks the vehicle as needed.
  • Performs additional related tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED equivalent; with two (2) years of experience in sanitary sewer, stormwater, or wastewater management, along with some familiarity with video production; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Work Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday

Additional Requirements
A background check, including a supervised drug screening, pre-employment medical examination, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses is mandatory prior to employment.
