Patient Safety Specialist

At Northwestern Medicine, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and a positive work environment. As a Patient Safety Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing continuous safety observation and monitoring of patients at risk for causing injury to themselves or others.
- Identifying and removing hazards from the patient and patient environment.
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living, as delegated by the supervising RN.
- Providing calming and reorienting conversation with patients in cases of agitation or confusion.
- Remotely monitoring multiple patients via continuous video monitoring.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- The ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull forces up to 50 pounds.
