Pharmacy Technician-in-Training Job Description

Become a part of our team at CPS Solutions, LLC as a Pharmacy Technician-in-Training. In this role, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

  • Accurately prepare medications for pharmacist review before being dispensed.
  • Perform tasks involved with preparation and labeling of IV admixtures and associated record keeping.
  • Package dry orals, liquid orals, and small volume injectables in unit-of-use containers using a combination of mechanical equipment and manual procedures.
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas within appropriate time frames.
  • Ensure drug items are appropriately billed to various areas or patients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Schedule: This position can possibly work up to 29 hours per week, 9:00am to 2:00pm. The schedule will vary.

Starting Pay: $18 - $20 per hour, depending on related work experience.

About the Facility: Brentwood Springs will transform the delivery of behavioral health services and solve the largest healthcare challenge of our generation, the lack of access to quality care for mental illness and addiction.

About the Pharmacy: The Pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 2:30pm.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet Indiana state guidelines for working in a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, i.e., Registration, etc.
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Certification program or Pharmacy Technician License within 12 months.
  • Ability to learn process for dispensing of medications.
  • Knowledge and ability to read and comprehend physician's orders relating to medications and treatments.
  • Limited typing experience.
  • Demonstrated team collaboration skills. Ability to effectively communicate with supervisor and team members. Strong customer service focus. Demonstrates appropriate problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Hospital Requirements: (may be required)

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months.
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity.
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving immunity.
  • HepB3 Series (or declination).
  • (Flu) Influenza - required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th.
  • COVID Vaccine - Full.
