CSL is a leading global biotechnology company with a diverse portfolio of innovative therapies. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all aspects of the pheresis procedure and plasma collection, including donor set-up, donor monitoring, and donor disconnect, in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines.
  • Evaluate vein performance of donors to identify potential issues and make necessary corrections to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to donors, ensuring a positive experience and addressing any questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Use a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents and events during the pheresis process, including machine alerts, volume variances, and donor adverse events.
  • Perform calibrations and verify maintenance as outlined in SOPs, and respond to and resolve complex equipment alarms or donor issues.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, create incident documentation, and remove or replace equipment from service as needed.
  • Monitor donor flow on the donor floor to ensure continuous turnover and alert Group Leaders or Supervisors of any issues.
  • Collect arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing, and ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
  • Understand and adhere to policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs, if applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, and ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed.
  • Promote safety in all actions, and maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum twelve (12) months experience in a medical or healthcare environment preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to complete routine forms or conduct routine oral communications.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
  • Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
  • Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of the time.
  • Reach, bend, kneel, and have a high level of manual dexterity.
  • Occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and to blood-borne pathogens.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
  • Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.
