Apprentice Lineman to Journeyman Lineman

We are seeking a talented and hardworking individual to join our team as an Apprentice Lineman up to a Journeyman Lineman. This is a full-time position at our Statesville, NC location, offering an excellent benefit package, outstanding 401K, and a competitive salary.

• Observe and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
• Demonstrate specialized technical skills in the construction, operation, and maintenance of a reliable electric system.
• Make recommendations for improvements in operations.
• Coordinate and cooperate with team members.
• Train less experienced team members.
• Perform emergency and on-call work.
• Apply theory to knowledge in transformer sizing.
• Maintain familiarity with transmission and distribution lines.
• Use and apply required forms, records, and reports.
• Work with a positive attitude to reflect the cooperative's core values.
• Communicate effectively with members.

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Lineman Academy graduate preferred.
• 1 year or more of previous experience working for an electric utility preferred.
• Possess a North Carolina Commercial Driver's License, Class A or be able to attain one within 90 days.
• Have a clean driving record and be able to safely drive a company vehicle.
• Be able to read comprehensively and write legibly.
• Make sound decisions and carry out instructions.
• Be responsible for supervised work assignment and work safety.
• Have the ability to lift and move weights in excess of 100 pounds.
• Be capable of stooping, bending, reaching, climbing, grasping, and frequently walking long distances.
• Demonstrate good hand to eye coordination and ability to read electronic displays and screens.
• Possess the necessary skills to utilize hand-held and manually operated tools.
• Be expected to pull on-call duty and be available for emergency work during all weather conditions.
• Have high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Be able to maintain confidentiality.
• Must live within a twenty (20) mile radius of the Statesville, NC office.
