Excavator Operator

- Grade to line and grade
- Service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment
- Operate on track or rubber-tired equipment, including gradall or wrist-o-twist type equipment
- Complete minor repairs
- Routine cleaning of equipment
- Knowledge of construction techniques
- 1 to 3 years of excavator operating experience
- Experience with storm & utility construction
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Well-versed in VDOT and local municipality standards and specifications
The Excavator Operator will work in a fast-paced construction environment, often in outdoor settings. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Physical Demands:- Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to stand, talk and hear
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste and smell
Branch Highways offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
This is a full-time position, typically involving 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
