Job Summary:

The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide high-quality patient care services under the direction of a physician at Texas ENT.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct thorough patient examinations, take medical histories, and record results to make preliminary diagnoses or decide on follow-up procedures.
* Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
* Administer and order diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interpret test results to inform patient care decisions.
* Perform therapeutic procedures, including immunizations, injections, suturing, and wound care, and manage infections to promote patient health.
* Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment and patient care plans.
* Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct and counsel patients, and record progress to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
* Prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
* Provide general health education to patients on matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.

Collaboration and Communication:

* Assist physicians with emergency treatments and more complex procedures, ensuring seamless patient care.
* Detail medical issues and patient medical histories, submitting them to attending doctors for consultation and guidance.
* Implement physician directives, monitor patient progress, and communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and colleagues in often stressful medical treatment settings.
* Counsel patients and their families regarding treatments and patient management plans, prioritizing patient-centered care.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
* Protect patients and employees by enforcing adherence to federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements, studying existing and new legislation, and advising management on needed actions.
* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Requirements:

* Bachelors Degree in a Physician Assistant Program or Current RN license and Masters degree in Nursing.
* Two years of experience in a clinical setting, with a strong foundation in patient care and medical procedures.
* State accreditation based on certifying exam, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
