Psychiatrist Position

Carrollton Springs is a 78-bed behavioral hospital located in Carrollton, TX. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient mental health and addiction treatment to adults, adolescents, and their families.

We are seeking a full-time Psychiatrist for one of our adult units in our behavioral hospital. As a Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for assessing clinical appropriateness for admission, collaborating with Assessment and Referral regarding potential admissions, and providing individual therapy, family therapy, and/or medication management as needed for patients under your care.

• Assess clinical appropriateness for admission and collaborate with Assessment and Referral regarding potential admissions.
• Perform psychiatric assessments for individuals under your care.
• Provide individual therapy, family therapy, and/or medication management as needed for patients under your care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA standards.
• Complete all documentation requirements legibly and within timeframes established by Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
• Lead the multidisciplinary treatment team and participate collaboratively in scheduled staffing regarding the treatment of your patients.
• Demonstrate appropriate medication administration and ensure that documentation regarding medications complies with facility and regulatory standards.
• Complete necessary documentation to ensure accurate reimbursement for services provided and work collaboratively with the UR Department.
• Comply with all Medical Staff Bylaws and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Comply with all facility policies and procedures. Maintain professional behaviors at all times.
• Share on-call schedule providing on-call services for patients and for responding to emergencies, admissions, and evaluations as necessary.
• Participate in performance improvement activity for the hospital.

Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school doctoral program and completion of residency in psychiatry required; board certification preferred.

Prior inpatient and/or outpatient experience in a behavioral healthcare setting practicing psychiatry and/or addiction medicine.

Current unencumbered medical doctor (MD) or osteopathic doctor (DO).

Unrestricted, state medical license, DEA, and State Controlled Substances registration.

Understands and able to apply applicable standards and regulations (e.g. The Joint Commission, CMS, etc.) in your daily work.
