Part-time Associate (Cashier) Job Description

We are seeking a Part-time Associate (Cashier) to join our Store Operations Team at Smart & Final. As a Part-time Associate, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and ensuring that our customers have a great shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a store section as assigned, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise, and ensuring proper pricing and rotation of products.
  • Set up advertising and promotional displays, and review invoices for accuracy.
  • Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot.
  • Operate a cash register, receive payment from customers, and process refunds and exchanges.
  • Verify customer eligibility for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
  • Offer friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers, and provide them with current store and product information.
  • Load customer purchases into their vehicles, and perform basic bookkeeping duties.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read and write English, interact with the general public and coworkers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, and product pricing codes.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence, and effectively present information to customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
