Position Title: Prevention Specialist

Role Summary: The Prevention Specialist will engage directly with children and adolescents aged 6-17, facilitating the Curriculum-Based Support Group (CBSG) Program. This role involves delivering educational sessions and presentations focused on the prevention of substance use, while also providing resources aimed at enhancing mental and behavioral health.   1. Conduct weekly CBSG sessions with small groups of students at various educational and community sites.

  4. Assist in organizing community health fairs, assemblies, and other outreach presentations.
  5. Engage in activities that promote positive mental and behavioral health through relationship-building with supportive adults.
  6. Document all service activities and implement evaluation processes through pre- and post-tests with participants.
  7. Maintain positive relationships with schools, shelters, and community service agencies.
  8. Collect and input participant data into an electronic database.
  9. Ensure confidentiality of participant information and adhere to privacy policies.
  10. Participate in team meetings and contribute to program reporting as required.

Qualifications:

  4. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  5. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  6. Experience working with diverse populations and knowledge of trauma-informed care.
