Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Environ Asst General Team, PRN - Cleaning and Sanitizing Specialist to join our team at Children's National Health System. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, families, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily routine cleaning in assigned areas, including specialty areas such as Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Recovery room, following established policies and procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field as required according to department policy.
- Remove trash and soiled linen, and use appropriate techniques and bagging procedures.
- Replenish bathroom supplies as needed.
- Perform project work such as cleaning specialized equipment as directed.
- Use cleaning chemicals for their specific purpose, following product directions.
- Restock cart and notify supervisor when supplies are low.
- Perform meeting room set ups when assigned.
- Perform routine and restorative care to hard and carpeted floors as assigned.
- Complete Daily Report, including checklist and log of duties completed during shift.
- Operate cleaning equipment according to instructions.
- Replace belts, bags, and make other minor equipment repairs; report other mechanical failures to supervisor.
- Clean equipment as directed.
- Report to Work as Scheduled, including arriving and departing on time, and reporting to work on scheduled days with no excessive absenteeism.
- Follow Established Dress Code, including reporting to work in uniform, and wearing entire uniform daily.
- Participate in Continuing Education, including attending weekly/monthly departmental training sessions, and attending mandatory annual training sessions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate positively with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to operate vacuums, buffers, shampooers, auto scrubbers, scrubbers, burnishers, carpet extractors, and shampoo machines, and other related cleaning equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds routinely and 60 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to bend from waist and at knees, reach with arms over head, and stand for prolonged periods.
