Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL driver to join our team at Talbert Building Supply. As a CDL Driver - Building Materials Specialist, you will be responsible for safely transporting building materials to our customers in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct daily pre-trip inspections of your truck and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Load Verification: Verify that loads are accurate and securely tied down before leaving the yard.
  • Safe Transportation: Safely transport building materials to and from locations via company truck.
  • Delivery and Unloading: Safely unload material with a piggy-back forklift at job sites while stacking neatly and covering with plastic before departing.
  • Delivery Schedules: Meet delivery schedules and stops as designated by the Shipping Manager.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including actual mileage, signatures on orders, fuel totals, etc.
  • Documentation: Submit all documentation, including inspections and signature copies, complete and timely.
  • Customer Service: Ensure excellent customer service by consistently delivering orders on time and acting courteously and professionally.
  • Communication: Communicate all problems, damages, customer complaints, concerns, or errors to the supervisor immediately.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the interior and exterior of your truck neat and clean.
  • Teamwork: Maintain a good relationship with all employees.
  • Appearance: Maintain a neat appearance by following the company dress code.
Requirements
  • Class A or B CDL: Possess a valid Class A or B CDL.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent Driving Record: Have an excellent driving record.
  • Physical Ability: Be able to handle 100 lbs. products.
  • Forklift Operation: Be able to operate a forklift (training provided).
  • Background Check and Drug Test: Pass a company background check and drug test.
  • Documentation and Organization: Have effective documentation and organizational capacity.
  • Knowledge of Roadways: Have good knowledge of roadways throughout the immediate and surrounding areas.
