Job Summary

San Juan Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Flight Nurse to join our team. As a Flight Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and transportation services to critically ill or injured patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized patient care and maintain clinical competency appropriate for the area of practice
  • Understand and follow policy and procedure in addition to meeting licensure requirements
  • Responsive to current safety and quality initiatives and sustains improvement
  • Builds productive interpersonal relationships in every encounter
  • Demonstrates teamwork
  • Actively participates in the department
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Current licensure by the State Board of Nursing of New Mexico or compact (multi-state) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Must meet the requirements for obtaining and maintaining life support certifications as outlined in the Life Support Certification policy
  • Three (3) years minimum critical care experience
  • NRP certification within one year
  • CFRN within two (2) years if full-time
  • Meets flight weight of less than two hundred twenty-five (225) pounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as CEN, CCRN, CFRN, etc. attained within two (2) years if less than full time.
  • EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic
  • Advanced training in trauma, critical care, high risk OB, pediatrics, etc.
Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions
  • Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently
  • Must be able to lift greater than fifty (50) pounds and push up to three hundred (300) pounds frequently
  • Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids and meets OSHA training requirements
