Key responsibilities in this role:

  • Provide professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices
  • Effectively inform and educate patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy
  • Establish therapy objectives as part of the patient assessment
  • Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and aid in planning subsequent sessions
  • Take an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening
  • Encourage patients to participate in sessions and support them by responding musically and improvising with music as a reaction to what the client is communicating to give comfort during the last stages of life
  • Support patients' creative development and facilitate positive changes in their behavior and well-being

We're seeking a compassionate Hospice Music Therapist with:

  • Bachelor of Music Therapy degree
  • Current Board-certified (MT-BC) credential according to the U.S. Certification Board for Music Therapists
  • State music therapy licensing where required
  • At least six months of work/education experience with geriatric healthcare
  • At least six months of work/education experience with end-of-life/terminal illness healthcare
