Forsyth County, NC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our Facilities Operations team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance work, including preventative and corrective maintenance on county facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform initial grading work for new construction, including tree removal and site leveling using various equipment.
- Maintain and repair a large variety of heating and air conditioning equipment, including preventive maintenance and less complex repairs.
- Inspect HVAC equipment, including visual inspections and instrument checks.
- Repair and install plumbing fixtures, pressure valves, and piping.
- Repair and install light fixtures, switches, breakers, fuses, and new conduit wiring.
- Participate in special projects and general maintenance activities, such as flooring repairs, drywall patching, and building facility repairs.
- Oversee a small crew responsible for painting county facilities.
- Graduation from high school or GED and at least three years of experience in a relevant building trade.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to work from plans and specifications.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to oversee the work of others.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
- Heavy lifting at times in excess of 50 lbs.
This position requires working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. The successful candidate will be required to pass a more stringent criminal background check.
