Firefighting Explorer Job Description

The Goose Creek Rural Fire Department is a dynamic and diverse organization seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Firefighting Explorer. This entry-level position is designed for high school students between the ages of 14 and 18 who are new to the Department.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in all activities involving the Explorer Post, including training sessions and meetings.
  • Maintain training requirements and participate in all station training, including Explorer Meetings held on Tuesday Evening and Saturday Morning.
  • Attend 50% of the scheduled training meetings.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 14 years of age and have entered high school.
  • Must maintain a 2.0 grade point average.
