Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and their families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
  • Set the standards for the level and quality of care and demonstrate a commitment to the community and to your healthcare profession.
  • Contribute to UPMC's mission of Life Changing Medicine and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) or a nurse practitioner program.
  • Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or CRNP certification.
  • Current CPR certification and Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 clearances.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
