Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures, communicating with patients, and ensuring the quality of radiographs.

Responsibilities

Competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams.
Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm their understanding.
Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing patient radiation protection and safety.
Identify patients, label images, and compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
Process images, ensuring quality of radiographs, and call back patients as necessary.
Assist, communicate, and consult with Radiologists.
Prepare and maintain records, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system.
Document billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.

Requirements

Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.

Working Conditions

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently.
Must be able to stand/walk for the majority of the day.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
