Department: Anesthesia
Shift: First Shift
Weekly Hours: 40
Role Summary:
The Surgical Technician is responsible for the effective management of medical devices, equipment, and supplies utilized in the surgical department. This role includes the delivery, cleaning, storage, and retrieval of essential items, ensuring that all necessary equipment is organized and readily available to meet patient care demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and track surgical equipment and supplies within the department.
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical department and sterile processing as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in aseptic techniques, cleaning protocols, assembly procedures, and safety standards is essential. Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures related to equipment and supply distribution is also required.
Certification:
- Current BLS certification recognized by AHA is mandatory prior to employment.
- Preferred certifications include CRCST, Instrument Tech II, or Certified Anesthesia Tech.
