We are seeking a skilled Content Editor to join our team at the School of Visual and Performing Arts. This is a part-time position that requires producing high-quality content for our bi-weekly newspaper and online publications.

About the Role

As a Content Editor, you will be responsible for writing engaging articles, designing and laying out the newspaper, and working on various assignments to create visually appealing content. Your role will be instrumental in helping us share the stories and achievements of our students, faculty, and staff with the community.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with others. You should also be able to interact with people from diverse backgrounds and possess a passion for creating high-quality content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write engaging articles and features for our bi-weekly newspaper and online publications.
  • Design and lay out the newspaper, ensuring it meets our high standards for visual appeal and readability.
  • Work on various assignments, including researching and interviewing sources, taking photos, and creating graphics.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the Fall and Spring semesters, and 3 hours in the Summer semester.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

We offer a competitive salary range of $14.36 per hour, based on your experience and qualifications. As a part-time employee, you will have the flexibility to balance your work and academic responsibilities while contributing to the success of our publication.
