Phlebotomy Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at Harlingen Medical Center. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients of all ages for analysis in the clinical laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform skin puncture or venipuncture on patients for the purpose of obtaining a blood specimen.
• Process microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank specimens.
• Stock routine supplies and maintain the cleanliness of storage areas, trays, centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, and work areas.
• Process or load specimens on automated laboratory instrumentation in accordance with established policy and procedures.
• Assist with picking up samples at the hospital/ OR, sorting out samples for analysis, and putting away samples.
