We are seeking a dedicated Support Coordinator to work within our organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities under the supervision of the Residence Manager.
About the RoleThe Support Coordinator will be responsible for providing direct services to all individuals in the residence, ensuring a normalized, therapeutic, and safe environment. You will promote positive self-esteem among residents through consistent positive interactions, support, encouragement, and respect for individual rights.
Responsibilities:- Work with individuals with mental or developmental disabilities by creating behavior plans, teaching self-care skills, and preparing meals.
- Assist clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing.
- Complete housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes, and tidying.
- Help plan client appointments and organize schedules.
- Organize transportation arrangements to appointments.
- Shop for groceries and prepare meals that meet specific client dietary needs.
- Encourage client engagement in social networks and communities.
- Adhere to our organization's Code of Ethics.
- Effectively communicate and support our mission, vision, and values.
- Accurately document service provision, daily notes, and other information as required.
To be successful in this role, you must be beyond probationary period and have no disciplinary action on file for past 12 months. The shifts are from 3:00pm-11:00pm and 11:00pm-9:00am, requiring ability to lift at least 50 pounds or more, stand for at least eight hours at a time, and perform daily standing, bending, and lifting.
