Job Summary:

The City of Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining complex financial records, preparing financial reports, and analyzing financial data to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including budget transactions and account reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and annual external audit
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for presentation to the City Council
  • Develop and implement accounting system improvements, including subsystem implementations
  • Participate in special projects and research management reports as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • Three to five years of related experience in accounting, auditing, and/or retirement benefits administration
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
