Job Summary

This part-time position is an exciting opportunity to join the Healthy Transitions Team as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. The successful candidate will provide screening assessment and psychiatric nursing services to youth and young adults struggling with severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric nursing interventions, referrals, and care coordination services for enrolled youth and their families.
  • Conduct screenings, biopsychosocial assessments, and high-level care coordination to ensure follow-up and connection with referrals made.
  • Engage in trainings on Coordinated Specialty Care model, evidence-based wrap-around models, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and practices.
  • Participate actively in care coordination with community and health providers and engage in multi-disciplinary review meetings to develop integrated care plans.
  • Complete screenings utilizing standardized tools for substance use and mental health, including SBIRT, trauma screening, and tools for depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and social determinants of health.
Requirements
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working as a psychiatric nurse in a community-based behavioral health setting.
  • Valid and current Rhode Island Registered Nurse License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance use issues.
  • Understanding of family systems model of care.
  • Familiarity with screening/assessment tools and evidence-based practices.
