Job Summary

HES Facilities is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Custodial Services Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our university living areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily and periodic cleaning of university living areas, including inspection of facilities to ensure cleanliness and order.
  • Supervise a team of custodians and assistant supervisors, including determining staffing levels required for work projects and meeting with occupants to monitor standards of cleanliness.
  • Coordinate setup for events on all campuses and ensure proper staffing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including evaluating performance of custodial personnel, preparing and submitting disciplinary action and incident reports, and counseling employees.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • 3 years of progressively responsible custodial work experience, preferably in a hotel, hospital, or residence hall facility.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials, supervisory skills, customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal/human relations skills, training skills, report preparation skills, ability to conduct custodial inspections, ability to plan and organize, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to walk throughout the campus.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to operate carpet extractor, floor buffers, and various cleaning equipment.
