The estimated annual salary for this position is between $85,000 and $115,000, depending on experience and location.

Job Description

Clinical Expertise: As a RN, Registered Nurse, you will demonstrate proficiency and independence in patient care, applying the nursing process, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will consult with staff, physicians, and management on nursing problems and hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Continuously learn new skills and maintain clinical competency within the department to provide safe patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Promote positive public relations for the department and the hospital by presenting yourself in a professional manner; assist in community service programs as requested.
  • Ability to problem solve patient/family issues to a positive conclusion for all involved.
  • Demonstrate communication skills necessary to interact with persons of varying age and/or cultures. Display a positive attitude always.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with co-workers, other department staff, and physicians, with no disruptions.
  • Practice five rights of medication administration.
  • Demonstrate efficient time management skills to maximize productivity.
  • Demonstrate and encourage teamwork.
  • Ask for assistance and information from others when necessary.
  • Support the Mission and Philosophy of the hospital and the Department. Demonstrate an understanding of and comply with Policies & Procedures.
  • Support a nursing philosophy of caring.
  • Act as patient advocate, including family in patient's care and respecting confidentiality.
  • Able to set aside personal values to care for patients whose values conflict.
  • Respect the patient's cultural and religious beliefs.
  • Effectively deal with end-of-life decisions (code status).
  • Be relied upon to work assigned shifts (refers to absenteeism).
  • Be accountable for actions, behaviors, and decisions.
  • Utilize the chain of command appropriately to resolve issues.
  • Participate in hospital quality activities as required.
  • Participate in department quality activities as required.
  • The employee will adhere to organizational/departmental customer service standards.
  • Utilize Policies & Procedures as necessary and can access via Intranet.
  • Participate in yearly legal compliance training.
  • Explain the departmental chain of command.
  • Explain the purpose of Legal Compliance Hotline and utilize if indicated.
  • Participate in departmental Legal Compliance plan.
  • Attend Orientation/Re-Orientation.
  • Complete Annual Department Competencies.
  • Promote positive public relations for the department and the hospital.
  • Present self in a professional manner; assist in community service programs as requested.

  • Answer telephone as assigned, route calls or take messages appropriately.

  • Must have strong written and verbal skills.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge.
