Yard Driver

We are seeking a skilled Yard Driver to join our team at Kenco Logistics Services, LLC. As a Yard Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers in the yard, as well as operating a forklift to move products or shipments.

• Safely back trailers into assigned dock/yard spaces and engage dock locks, chocks, and deploy trailer stands.
• Park and organize trailers on the warehouse yard.
• Mount and dismount the yard spotter frequently and slide trailer tandems alone.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard tractor and complete DVIRs.
• Utilize YMS to make inbound and outbound trailer movements.
• Assist with refueling of yard tractors.
• Operate forklift to move shipments between trailer movements.
• Coordinate with office clerk on trailer movements and prioritize movements to ensure no downtime for warehouse associates.
• Follow company policy, participate in required trainings, and maintain a clean truck.
• Inspect trailers after putting them on the dock.
• Complete all system and manual reports/log accurately and timely.
• Operate all equipment in a safe manner, observing all traffic regulations.
• Accountable for all assigned tools and equipment.
• Report any unsafe conditions, injury, or damage to management.
• Travel on public highway to obtain fuel or to take to maintenance facility.
• May need to haul to trailer, drop yard, or overflow warehouse.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Class A CDL with 2 years driving experience.
• Minimum of six months related experience or training in a distribution environment.
• Pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Willing to work in inclement weather, if necessary.
• No accidents and no more than two minor moving violations for the last three years.
