Position Overview:

The MEP Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the construction initiation and commissioning processes for mechanical, electrical, and control systems, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the bidding process for mechanical and electrical trades.
  • Oversee the procurement of necessary equipment.
  • Develop and maintain the critical path schedule for MEP activities.
  • Coordinate and monitor essential construction and startup tasks.
  • Manage the logistics of equipment deliveries.
  • Review and approve mechanical and electrical submittals.
  • Facilitate project meetings focused on critical MEP operations.
  • Create Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for work in active environments.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and design teams to resolve MEP-related conflicts.
  • Ensure quality control measures are adhered to during MEP systems construction.
  • Lead the startup and pre-testing phases of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Support third-party commissioning efforts.
  • Maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or business is highly preferred.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical or electrical system construction.
  • At least 3 years of combined experience in mission-critical construction, hospital projects, MEP project management, or mechanical and electrical system startup and commissioning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on team development.
  • Strong organizational skills in coordinating and scheduling MEP activities.
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Proficient in utilizing technology and software relevant to the role.
  • Experience in preconstruction and equipment procurement.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
