Attorney Advisor

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is seeking a highly skilled Attorney Advisor to join our team in the Office of General Counsel. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the regulatory landscape for the credit union industry.

• Draft and review regulations and opinions related to credit union operations, including investments, share insurance coverage, capital requirements, and field of membership.
• Assist with testimony for Congressional hearings on proposed and final financial institution legislation and current issues affecting the NCUA or the financial services industry.
• Participate in the preparation of interagency and NCUA reports for Congress and the Administration.
• Provide general legal advisory services related to federal laws, including the Administrative Procedure Act and notice-and-comment rulemaking.

• Four full years of post-law school legal experience demonstrating the ability to perform the work at the CU-14 grade level.
• At least 12 months of the legal experience must have been equivalent to the CU/GS-13 grade level in federal service, performing drafting, reviewing, or commenting on federal regulations in multiple subject areas and providing general legal advisory services.
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in multiple areas, including drafting internal and public legal memoranda and opinions, reviewing and analyzing proposed legislation, and providing written and oral briefings to executive management.
