Job Summary

UCLA Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center. As a NICU Nurse Specialist, you will provide exceptional nursing care to critically ill newborns and their families, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to NICU patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to unit policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, including education and support for patients and families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and unit efficiency
Requirements
  • Current California RN license
  • BSN or MSN degree
  • BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • NRP and PALS certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics
  • 2+ years of Level IV NICU experience
  • Ability to perform historical, physical, and behavioral patient assessments
  • Ability to develop and implement patient care plans actively involving patients, family, and staff
Preferred Qualifications
  • NICU specialty certification (CCRN or RNC-NIC)
  • Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program
