Bus Operator

Strasburg School District 31J is seeking a qualified Bus Driver to join our team. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of children, staff, and volunteers during bus transportation.

• Ensures the safety and well-being of children and adults being transported to and from the program and on field trips.
• Operates the bus in a safe and efficient manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
• Assists with the loading and unloading of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Completes daily reporting and maintains accurate records of bus operations.
• Participates in regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

• Possess a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a School Bus Driver's Permit.
• Be certified in First Aid and CPR for all age groups transported.
• Ability to pass an annual School Bus Driver's physical.
• Must be able to comply with background check, including fingerprints, as required by the School District and/or Colorado Department of Education.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees and occasionally will walk on slippery surfaces. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with public and other employees. The employee has direct responsibility for the safety and well-being of others. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud to where you have to raise your voice to be heard.
