Grain Procurement Specialist

CHS Inc., a leading global agribusiness, is seeking a skilled Grain Originator to join our go-to-market team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with producers in the Lowder, IL area to procure grain and develop marketing programs.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain professional relationships with country elevators and farmer producers, serving as the primary point of contact for CHS.
- Update producers on market trends, current quotes, and agricultural business developments.
- Grow CHS business by acquiring new customers and expanding into new regions.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts, gaining in-depth knowledge of their goals and objectives.
- Procure CHS products from producers and elevators based on overall strategy, making timely and informed decisions.
- Communicate bid changes and closing bids to customers, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Interpret industry reports and understand changes and trends in the market.
- Develop and implement standard purchasing strategies and tactics, adhering to CHS policies and guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including merchandisers, hedge desk, and accountants, to exchange information and achieve common goals.
- Manage customer shipments in conjunction with CHS capacity, executing logistics strategies for the physical movement of goods.
- Demonstrate effective cross-selling success, achieving progressive customer share of wallet for multiple product lines.
- Apply CHS sales cycle to achieve specific targeted results.
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Commodities
- Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
- Strong customer service skills, including negotiation and conflict management
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Manufacturing, Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or a related field
