This position is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support services in the Emergency Department. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with general activities of the Emergency Department, including patient assessment, vital sign collection, and documentation.
- Support the healthcare team with performance of patient care activities, under the direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse.
- Transport patients to various departments, including radiology, MRI, and operating rooms, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- Respond to emergency situations, including Code Blues and Trauma Codes, and provide life-saving interventions as needed.
- Perform various medical procedures, including EKGs, phlebotomy, and POCT, as assigned by the healthcare team.
- Stock and maintain equipment and supplies within the Emergency Department, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Specialized training or certification in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or a related field preferred.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required upon hire.
- EMT certification required upon hire.
- PEARS certification obtained upon hire.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
