Job Summary:

ABM Industries is seeking a skilled Airport Maintenance Technician to join our team at O'Hare Airport. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all required work and attaining the utmost in customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24/7 on-call emergency response and support to maintain the highest level of integrity and availability of building systems and infrastructure efficiency
  • Monitor and maintain all building and mission-critical facilities equipment
  • Operate facility equipment in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly walk-throughs of customer facilities in support of data center and office operations
  • Perform tests and rounds to analyze data and ensure proper functioning and operating parameters of equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment to ensure efficient operation of all building systems
  • Assist with the preparation of MOPs as directed
  • Provide maintenance expertise and assistance
  • Operate site facility equipment and systems without error to obtain maximum availability
  • Provide suggestions for continuous improvements in the areas of process improvement and cost reduction savings
  • Coordinate maintenance with outside vendors and oversee vendor maintenance
  • Respond to emergency situations and customer concerns
  • Ensure strict adherence to critical facility work rules and safety procedures
  • Provide critical timely verbal and written operating reports to give a clear understanding of the condition of the buildings critical systems and the present level of ongoing preventative maintenance
  • Provide training (within their expertise) to other handymen, as required
  • Encourage, train, and evaluate Apprentice's technical and behavioral skills
  • Manage subcontractors as required, ensuring scope compliance and quality of services performed
  • Ensure compliance with established Methods of Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Work overtime as assigned and required
  • Familiar with all applicable Federal, State, and local rules, codes, and regulations
  • Interact effectively with internal and external customers


Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required
  • Must possess a valid, unexpired driver's license
  • At least one year of experience supporting mission-critical environments
  • Hands-on electrical, plumbing, or mechanical skills, and competence in the area of non-expertise
  • Operate and perform both routine and emergency service on a variety of state-of-the-art critical systems
  • Knowledge and experience using basic computer applications
