Position Overview

As a vital member of our Environmental Services team, the Hospital Housekeeper / Floor Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a pristine and safe environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute daily cleaning tasks in designated areas, adhering to established protocols and training.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work using the Area Assignment Checklist.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of assigned areas at the start of each shift.
  • Respond promptly to housekeeping requests and pages.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Environmental Services leadership.

Floor Technician Duties

  • Implement daily cleaning, buffing, and bonneting procedures in accordance with training guidelines.
  • Engage in floor maintenance activities, including stripping and extraction projects.
  • Document work performed on the Area Assignment Checklist.
  • Respond to housekeeping pages as needed.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the department leadership.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs frequently.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
  • Must handle and interact with various cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours as required.

  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
