Leadership Responsibilities
The ideal candidate for the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery will be an exemplary leader with a solid history in clinical practice. Recognized for its clinical excellence and commitment to high-quality patient care, the Division is looking for an individual with a proven record of outstanding patient outcomes and clinical performance. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, the capacity to drive strategic initiatives in cardiothoracic surgery, and the ability to articulate a clear vision while effectively managing and mentoring team members. The Chief will also act as the ambassador for the CT program, tasked with enhancing and developing referral relationships, boosting cardiac surgery volume, and fostering a successful program.
This position is hospital-employed and includes a collaborative network of over 25 employed cardiologists. There exists a robust referral system, supported by both employed and independent regional cardiology practices, covering a large geographic area. The clinic and surgical facilities are conveniently situated on the hospital campus, with strong Surgical PA support available around the clock at a modern hospital facility.

The practice serves a broad tri-state area, centered in the Capital District. Qualifications:
- Board certification in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Robotic Certification and Experience is advantageous.
- Eligibility for NYS License.
- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
