Position Overview

The Clinical Embryologist will engage in a synergistic partnership with the Laboratory Director and/or Supervisor alongside fellow team members, as well as with other departmental personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage embryology procedures such as oocyte retrievals, embryo transfers, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Assisted Hatching, sperm processing, embryo culture, evaluation and monitoring, as well as cryopreservation of embryos, oocytes, and sperm. This includes biopsy for Preimplantation Genetic Testing and laboratory processes associated with IVF urology methods.
  • Conduct semen evaluations, including assessments of sperm count, motility, morphology, and viability using manual microscopic techniques. Execute routine sperm preparations for inseminations and cryopreservation.
  • Contribute to Laboratory Operations as instructed.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date cryopreservation documentation. Accurately accession and record donor and autologous frozen sperm specimens upon receipt, thawing, disposal, or transfer.
  • Document patient care activities by charting in patient and departmental records and organizing clinical documents.
  • Exhibit proficiency in laboratory service performance.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic with a commitment to learning laboratory protocols.
  • Ability to work autonomously while exercising sound judgment.
  • Competence in accessing, inputting, and retrieving information using computer systems.
  • Familiarity with office procedures and equipment (e.g., computer, fax machine, copier).
  • Engage in effective communication with colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science discipline is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a human IVF laboratory is preferred.
  • Willingness to participate in a rotating schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and early morning or late afternoon shifts.
