Perioperative Nurse Specialist

Piedmont Columbus Midtown seeks a skilled Perioperative Nurse Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our perioperative services team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered care in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients at regular intervals to ensure safe and effective care.
- Participate in preoperative assessment and planning for surgical patients, collaborating with the perioperative team to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Develop and implement individualized perioperative patient plans of care, prioritizing patient needs and safety.
- Document nursing care accurately, completely, and legibly, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to quality review and performance improvement projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
- Maintain regulatory, credentialing, and privileging requirements for practice as an RNFA, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Act as a patient advocate, promoting patient autonomy and dignity while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Participate in a call rotation and work irregular hours as necessary, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Utilize effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster positive work relationships with team members, promoting a collaborative and respectful work environment.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, are required for this role.
- Graduation from a school of nursing is mandatory, with a minimum of three years of experience in perioperative cardiothoracic nursing required for CVOR positions.
- Certification as a Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) is highly valued.
