Job Title: Controls Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team at Tech Talent Express. As a Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development, design, implementation, and support of industrial control panels and control systems used in fuel management applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to assist in electrical/controls design activities related to new standard products, revisions, and continuous improvement of existing products.
  • Program PLCs for OEM equipment and develop test methods and protocols for software and hardware testing.
  • Prepare controls load calculations, select equipment, and layout for control panels.
  • Assist the production department with training and production drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Create accurate designs and documentation within specifications, budget, and schedule.
  • Manage CAD packages, drawings, diagrams, and bills of materials.
  • Develop system manuals, installation instructions, and sequence of operations documentation.
  • Provide technical support within a specific function for others within the organization.
  • Propose new ideas and initiate cost reduction and product improvement efforts to increase overall product value.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or a related field) with at least three (3) years of experience, or ten (10) years of related experience and/or training.
  • Previous experience working as a product engineer.
  • In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD electrical software.
  • Experience with UL Standards.
  • Knowledge of ladder logic and function block PLC programming.
  • Ability to produce reports and updates on progress when requested by project managers.
  • Advanced analytical and design skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of product manufacturing feasibility and DFM principles.
  • Knowledge of industry and market trends.
  • Resourceful and team-oriented problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to concurrently manage various projects, tasks, and assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of UL-508a Standards.
  • Experience with one or more of the following PLCs: Rockwell (CompactLogix), Siemens (Siemens LOGO), Unitronics (Unistream), Wago (Codesys).
