Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer - Space Technology to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing new development tools and infrastructure, automating and improving development and release processes, and ensuring the quality and reliability of software systems.

About the Role:

As a Senior Software Development Engineer - Space Technology, you will collaborate with our development team to understand project requirements, identify potential issues, and design and execute tests to ensure the quality and reliability of software systems. You will also work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes, and participate in project management decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new development tools and infrastructure
  • Automate and improve development and release processes
  • Design and execute tests to ensure the quality and reliability of software systems
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and identify potential issues
  • Work on ways to improve development and release processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field
  • 5+ years relevant experience in spacecraft and/or launch vehicle software development
  • Experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role
  • Experience with Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) software test beds
  • Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows
  • Experience with Bash scripting
  • Experience with Linux network management
  • Experience with network debugging
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Collaborative team spirit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates professional experience in launch vehicle and/or spacecraft software systems
  • Experience with spacecraft embedded C/C++ flight software, found test software, and simulation software
  • Ability to solve complex problems in a fast-paced collaborative interdisciplinary team environment
  • Software quality practices associated with the organization like NASA, FAA, etc.
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong coordination, organization and communication abilities

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced design and development environment
  • Schedule may vary depending on program development needs; flexibility required
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive salary based upon experience: $110,000 - $140,000. Medical/vision/dental health benefits, hybrid work schedule, company-paid public transportation, paid vacation (18 days), sick days (6 days), holidays (14 paid holidays), and 401(k).
