We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Geriatric Psychiatric Unit at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Responsibilities- Assist in carrying out the phases of the nursing process under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Perform activities and functions of patient care within the legal scope of practice of the Licensed Practical Nurse, State of Iowa, and in accordance with Mercy Medical Center Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, and other multi-disciplinary team members.
- Implement and document appropriate teaching needs to patient/family/significant others as delegated by the registered nurse.
- Prioritize and implement appropriate interventions and treatments as delegated by the registered nurse, utilizing the formulated plan of care.
- Collaborate with the registered nurse to evaluate and document patient responses to the plan of care, medications, treatments, and therapies.
- Identify and communicate significant changes in patient status to the registered nurse.
- Report and record aspects of data collection/tasks performed into the patient record accurately and concisely.
- Administer medications safely utilizing acquired knowledge and skills according to the physician's order.
- Current Iowa LPN license.
- Maintains Basic Life Support Certification (BCLS).
