HVAC Installation Technician Lead

The Lead Installation Technician is responsible for the complete and satisfactory installation of residential HVAC equipment and accessories. This role oversees the work of Assistant Installation Technicians to ensure work is performed correctly, communicates with customers to answer questions, resolve problems, and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Installs heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment, as well as accessories, in accordance with company standards/requirements and manufacturer specifications.
- Designs, fabricates, and installs various ducts and duct fittings as necessary.
- Performs limited diagnostics, as necessary.
- Maintains a clean work area and safeguards client floors by laying drop cloths while performing installations.
- Effectively communicates with customer regarding questions, concerns, and problems.
- Performs startups on heating, cooling systems, and other components.
- Responsible for the delivery and removal of equipment needed to complete installation work.
- Confirms company vehicle is in safe working order.
- Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are being properly used, maintained, and accounted for.
- Trains apprentice to perform various tasks, including properly filling out and organizing job folders, setting air conditioners and heat pumps, and installing thermostats and wiring.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of verifiable installation work history.
- Knowledge of the fundamental operational functionality of residential heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment.
- Knowledge of the layout and installation requirements of residential duct work and fittings.
- Skilled in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting problems with electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems on residential HVAC equipment.
- Solid communication and customer service skills.
- Must have appropriate trade tools.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- NATE Certification.
- HVAC Certification or Diploma.
The Lead Installation Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with extreme temperatures, climbing, heavy lifting, loud noise, crawling, working in confined spaces, pushing/pulling, carrying equipment, bending, turning, kneeling.
The physical demands of this role include the capability of lifting 75 pounds, carrying items weighing 75 pounds, standing, walking, and climbing ladders and stairs, working in confined spaces, and maneuvering in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units.
The Lead Installation Technician must have natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
