Amergis is seeking a skilled Psychiatric LPN to join our team. As a Psychiatric LPN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a psychiatric unit of a hospital or mental health/behavioral health hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Management: Responsible for the administration and ordering of medication, blood draws, nursing assessments, and patient care, as applicable per state regulations.
- Medication Administration: Takes medication orders, transcribes to MAR, administers medications, orders medications from the pharmacy, and maintains the Medication Room to agency standards, as applicable per state regulations.
- Patient Care: Takes temperatures, pulse, blood pressure, and weight per program guidelines, as well as blood draws, and completes required paperwork.
- Urine Samples: Responsible for taking urine samples as needed and completing all necessary paperwork and following nursing standards related to this process.
- Documentation: Maintains the integrity of the clinical record through timely and accurate completion of all required paperwork.
- Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned or necessary.
- Current LPN License: Current LPN license in the state of assignment.
- Experience: 1 year of experience in a psychiatric care setting preferred.
- Professional Standards: Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Competency Program: Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
- CPR and TB Questionnaire: Current CPR if applicable, TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
- Health Certificate: Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
- Federal, State, and Local Requirements: Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- New Hire Training: Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to the job site.
- Patient Confidentiality: Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
- Computer Proficiency: Computer proficiency required.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
