Job Summary:

The Coater Technician will control the paint application on-to the substrate. This role will partner with Planning and use the information provided to adhere to established paint applications. The successful candidate will take preventative measures to ensure the product is in compliance with Company specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain housekeeping requirements of the application area, including prime coat area
  • Install and remove coating rolls, mixers, pumps, and hoses at all coating stations
  • Set, monitor, and adjust computer control screens at the point of application
  • Monitor roll speed and amperage for all rolls at the coater
  • Operate a forklift and power jack
  • Check coating wet film and make required adjustments
  • Filter paint and check for dirt particles, bubbles, and flow
  • Record information on paint color supplier, batch number, and quantities consumed
  • Handle hazardous materials, including storage, labeling, and transportation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements:
  • Fluency in English, read, write, and speak
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents, such as training manuals, write routine reports, and facilitate training sessions
  • Able to perform mathematics, including dividing units of measure and computing rate, ratio, percentage, and interpreting graphs
Work Environment:

The atmosphere is that of a manufacturing plant. The position will primarily work where moving machinery produces noise. Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment that is issued for that location. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat. Physical demands may include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).
