Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate care to residents in a long-term care setting. Under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), the CNA provides personalized nursing assistance and daily living support tailored to each resident's needs.

Demonstrating knowledge of age-appropriate care, the CNA addresses both the physical and emotional requirements of residents as outlined in their care plans.

As an integral member of the nursing team, the CNA is responsible for adhering to infection control protocols and utilizing Personal Protective Equipment effectively.

Key responsibilities include assisting residents with essential health care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and monitoring vital signs, while also offering emotional support and personal care.

The CNA aids residents in mobility, including transferring and repositioning, using safe techniques and equipment, and provides exercises to enhance physical well-being.

In addition, the CNA contributes to meal preparation and dining experiences, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere during mealtimes.


Responsibilities
1. Support nursing staff with medical procedures as required.
2. Document resident interactions and care outcomes accurately.
3. Communicate any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse promptly.
4. Collect non-invasive specimens and monitor vital signs.
5. Maintain cleanliness in residents' living areas through housekeeping and laundry services.
6. Encourage resident participation in wellness and recreational activities.
7. Engage in departmental committees and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.

Minimum age requirement is 16 years. Previous experience in long-term care is advantageous.

Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing or be enrolled in a training program to obtain certification within four months of hire.

CNA training and certification will be provided by the facility.

Completion of annual competency assessments and maintenance of continuing education credits is essential, with a minimum of 12 hours required each year.

In applicable states, registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry is required.

Depending on specific duties, this position may require a valid driver's license and compliance with driving policies.
