In our Cardiac Rehabilitation department, we are seeking a skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based exercise therapy to our patients.
Salary
The salary for this position is between $22.45 and $32.27 per hour, depending on experience and internal equity. We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages to ensure your financial well-being.
Job Description
As an Exercise Physiologist in our Cardiac Rehabilitation department, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting initial patient assessments and developing personalized exercise prescriptions based on their medical history, age, disease, and individual needs.
- Implementing, monitoring, and modifying exercise plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to address any medical issues that may arise during exercise sessions.
- Providing education to patients on safe exercise practices, risk factor modification, medication compliance, stress management, and behavior change techniques.
Our ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to effectively educate patients on various topics related to disease management and wellness. You will also be responsible for documenting patient progress and communicating with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and patients' families as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field from a US regionally accredited university.
- A Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field is preferred, especially with completion of a clinical internship.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, while Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) certification is required within 12 months of hire.
- At least one year of experience working in a clinical exercise setting, although this requirement may be waived for candidates with a Master's degree.
Additional requirements include the ability to communicate effectively, write routine reports, and speak before groups of patients and their guests. You will also need to demonstrate strong time management skills, independence, and a passion for helping patients achieve their health goals.
