Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Oversight:

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of service technicians and support personnel.
  • Set a positive example by demonstrating best practices in technical work and customer interactions.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and promote a supportive work atmosphere.
  • Provide training and mentorship to technicians to keep them informed of industry standards and operational procedures.

Operational Oversight:

  • Plan and allocate tasks to technicians, ensuring timely and efficient job completion.
  • Monitor productivity metrics, including hours logged per repair order, labor rates, and parts consumption.
  • Ensure a well-organized and safe workshop environment, with proper maintenance and storage of tools and equipment.

Customer Engagement:

  • Guarantee that customer service benchmarks are met by supervising repair quality and addressing customer inquiries or issues.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service updates, repair suggestions, and cost estimates.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Oversee repair order processes, ensuring precision in diagnostics, parts procurement, and billing.
  • Monitor and report on essential performance indicators, including hours worked, labor efficiency, and parts profitability.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Engage in hands-on repair and maintenance tasks as necessary, including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Stay informed about industry developments and technological advancements to deliver the highest quality service.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in a marine service setting, with a solid background in technician management and shop operations.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a marine service role, including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marine equipment, repair methodologies, and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
  • Familiarity with DMS systems and software tools (e.g., Lightspeed).
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, focused on efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments and maintain a positive workplace culture.
