Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Flight Test team at Honda Aircraft Company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and coordinating equipment to support Flight Test operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop equipment, modifications, and test installations to meet design requirements and support Experimental Flight Test operations schedules.
  2. Develop and maintain engineering drawings and related documents to ensure soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design.
  3. Generate documentation for Vendor Requirements, SOW's, and Functional Checkout procedures.
  4. Interface with Flight Operations and Aircraft Coordination teams to ensure design requirements are satisfied.
  5. Coordinate with electrical design and initiate procurement for test equipment installations.
  6. Integrate external 3rd party test equipment into the Experimental Flight Test aircraft, coordinating electrical and mechanical interfaces as assigned.
  7. Maintain Flight Test Drawings schedule coordination with overall Flight Test Schedule.
  8. Generate prototype / fabrication orders and support fabrication, installation, and functional checkout of test equipment.
  9. Resolve issues related to design, documentation, procurement, fabrication, and installation.
  10. Coordinate designs and procurement for test equipment installations.
  11. Monitor installation progress for support of schedule.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  2. 7+ years of related experience.

  1. Proficiency in 3D multiple component designs and 2D fully dimensional and tolerance drawings.
  2. Strong Microsoft Office Suites skills.
  3. Strong computer operating systems skills.
  4. Strong drive to follow tasks to completion.
  5. Strong awareness of schedule-driven requirements.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills.
  7. Strong analytical skills.
  8. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  9. Ability to work independently and make sound Engineering Design decisions.
Physical Requirements
  1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise, heat, cold, dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
  2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions.
  3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements.
