Pet Groomer Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Pet Groomer to join our team at Tractor Supply. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional grooming services to dogs, ensuring their health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality grooming services to dogs, including bathing, trimming, and styling.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Assist in generating business by scheduling appointments, following up with customers, and verifying vaccinations.
  • Book appointments, greet pets, and report any accidents or injuries to the Store Manager.
  • Follow established bathing and grooming procedures, adhering to safety standards.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, cages, and other areas as needed.
  • Assist in store operations as needed, promoting a safe and productive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience grooming/styling pets.
  • Ability to work with dogs and cats, providing a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Must be able to read, write, and count accurately, completing all documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and management.
  • Must be able to lift and carry pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.

Working Conditions:

  • Working environment is favorable, generally working inside with moderate noise.
  • Exposure to wet conditions, pets, and pet waste.
  • Exposure to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos, and soaps.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move and transfer live animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and maintain a stationary position for up to 8 hours while grooming animals.
  • Ability to frequently move for 4-8 hours per day around the salon to groom animals, clean, and maintain the salon.
